Recent highlights
Here are some of our recent projects in detail:

Nestable container and Dolly Platform
- Nestable and stackable, optimal weight-to-strenth ratio.
- 21% weight saving compared to standard solutions.
- Innovative solution for joining platforms dollies.
We developed a complete logistics set of box + Dolly for picking in an automated warehouse, in coordination with the manufacturer of the warehouse’s automaton of a company that was a well-known online platform. Stackable, nestable boxes, with spacers, reinforced bottom and high resistance to meet flexural and breaking restrictions. Box weight is adapted to customer’s requirements, together with a highly versatile Dolly that allows creating joined platforms.

Beer crate
- Sustitución de caja 4G por caja 2G
- Saving 14% weight compared to the previous version.
- Cycle 38 s
We developed a project of 3 identical boxes for a well-known Brazilian brewery. The goal was to replace an older traditional style box, with no ad space, by a new box (4G).
Furthermore, the border between the safe and the unsafe part must be perfectly delimited, ensuring the influence of unsafe parts on safety functions. In addition, the weight of the box was reduced considerably, producing significant savings.

Foldable crate
- Mould for different versions of box height.
- Versatility and cost savings in transport.
- 78% reduction in box breakages.
We worked for an important German logistics firm creating the mould for a foldable crate, of different height versions.
En Moldblade nos encargamos del desarrollo íntegro de producto, cálculos estructurales y reológicos para conseguir una resistencia óptima en condiciones de uso muy severas.

Green roofs
- Recycled high impact polypropylene
- Co-financing of project development
- European Product Design Award 2019
Espora’s award-winning and patented system is a sustainable, safe, modular, easy-to-install option for green, flat, or sloped roofs. Among many of the benefits, the thermal and acoustic insulation of buildings stands out.
Our participation in the project ranges from product engineering, through manufacturing polypropylene modules to development and industrialization co-financing.

Water-soluble hook
- Polyvinyl alcohol PVOH
- Green solution, waste disposal.
- Optimized weight and higher productivity.
Fishhooks used for deep-sea fishing are usually made of plastic. The idea grew out, together with our client, to develop water-soluble fishhook solutions to ensure decomposition in the sea. It was quite a challenge to adjust the designs to new materials.

Polylactide (PLA) cutlery
- PLA
- Optimal weight-resistance ratio
- Cycle 6.2 s removal via robotic grippers for stacking.
For a regular customer, we developed a design our usual disposable cutlery moulds adapting to the available bioplastics.
The challenge required making prototype moulds and testing the available design, as well as compound variants until an optimal result was achieved. We are also working on updating the range of cutlery in organic origin material (corn).

Polypropylene composite
- Polypropylene copolymer (PPC)
- Prototype mould for tests
- Development of materials for the beverage industry.
Our partner Essentia (formerly Propilco), a multinational manufacturer of PP, collaborated with us in the development of new PP solutions in the field of beverage stoppers.
Manufacturing prototype moulds has allowed us to test different compounds and optimize the material, as well as redefine the design requirements in the new caps and plugs.

Caps for clusters
- PLA+PVOH (bio-degradable).
- Bicoloured. Double injection
- Cleanliness is guaranteed by a hinged lid.
This time, we help our customer to industrialize, optimizing in-depth the design and testing materials for Innovative products for clusters of beverage cans.
In order to replace the currently grouped cardboard or PVC systems, we offer a hygienic, ecological (bio-compostable and water-soluble) and practical solution.

Flip plug
- PLA+PVOH (bio-compostable)
- Cap attached to the bottle by seal and hinge.
- Initial development with prototype moulds.
Staying one step ahead of the market, we introduced this solution before it was mandatory. Moldblade provided all mould development, analysis, testing and tests.

Seaweed farms
- HDPE
- Articulated structural design
- Metallic over-injection
Systematized algae farming is a much more economical solution for this type of vegetable so appreciated in food, cosmetics, and many other applications.
Moldblade collaborated developing this project from its conception. A majority of plastic parts joined to several metal parts are together to offer a totally new and groundbreaking system.
