In this article, we will compare six of the most common plastics used in plastic injection: polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyoxymethylene (POM), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polycarbonate (PC), highlighting their properties, applications, and limitations. We will also mention other technical polymers widely used in the industry, such as polyamide (PA).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Properties and applications<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Polyethylene (PE)<\/h3>\n\n<p>High Density (HDPE): Elastic modulus of 800 to 2000 MPa, approximate melting point of 130\u00b0C to 135\u00b0C, resistant up to -100\u00b0C. It has excellent tensile strength and hardness, with low water absorption.<\/p>\n\n<p>Low Density (LDPE): Elastic modulus of 100 to 400 MPa, approximate melting point of 105\u00b0C to 115\u00b0C, flexible at temperatures as low as -50\u00b0C. Its transparency varies depending on the grade and processing.<\/p>\n\n<p>Applications: HDPE is used in containers, toys, and impact-resistant parts.
